Patient Care: State of art diagnostic and treatment facility for patients with various types of liver and biliary diseases in both adults and children.

Research: Establish a core facility for research on liver and biliary diseases in the country. Undertake, aid, promote, guide, and coordinate research of a high caliber in basic and applied sciences related to Hepatology, Endoscopy, Virology, Molecular biology, Community medicine, Biotechnology, Physiology, Pharmacology, Immunology and related clinical and basic science areas.

Teaching and Training: Provide teaching and training at the post-graduate and post-doctoral level in the specialty of liver and biliary diseases at the National and International level. Serve as a National Reference Center for Liver and Biliary sciences
