Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi is the youngest and the newest addition to the already existing network of Medical Universities in India. ILBS, New Delhi has a vision of providing quality medical education and to become an international centre of excellence for the clinical care, advance training and research in liver and biliary diseases. The academic curriculum, pedagogy and teaching methods are designed to enable the medical professionals to think critically, and to become conversant with medical principles and the best practices in liver and biliary diseases.

To meet its educational objective, ILBS has taken a modest beginning to start D. M in Hepatology, M. Ch in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery and Ph. D in Biomedical Sciences in 2010 and aims to start D. M. in Organ Transplant Anaesthesia and Critical Care in 2011. ILBS ensures to bridge the gap between the theory and practical application of concepts by instilling a learning, teaching and research methodology which is stimulative, participative and multi-disciplinary.

ILBS has developed a facility with international standards, which provides a comprehensive and most modern set up for the diagnosis and treatment, an advanced centre for dedicated research and a resource for advanced training in the field of liver and biliary diseases. The physical infrastructure developments on the campus are in tune with the rapid progress on the academic front. University intends to achieve the goal of making medical education in liver and biliary diseases as an instrument of holistic health. ILBS sincerely hopes that it would be able to live to the expectations of patients, medical fraternity and the people of the country.
