Research department has also developed some PCRbased assays for screening and identification of thrombotic complication via assessing certain subtle changes in the genetic level in the patients suffering from various liver disorders where thrombosis is found to be fatal complication. The identification of these subtle changes can predict predisposition towards thrombotic complication. The assay includes mutation analysis for MTHFR gene, Prothrombin gene, JAK 2 gene, Factor V ledin. Also, we have developed a PCR based test for detection of SNPs in IL28B and ITPA genes. These tests will help in predicting whether HCV patients will respond to Interferon and Ribavirin therapy.
