Academics at ILBS: Milestones Reached

ILBS as a University

In 2009, Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences was granted Deemed to be University status by the University Grants Commission. This Confers upon ILBS the privilege to start new courses in the area of hepatobiliary medicine and surgery as well as in pre and para clinical areas associated with this discipline. This also gives ILBS a recognition as a teaching institute.

As a first, ILBS (Deemed to be University), has applied to the medical Council of India, for permission to start the following post doctoral courses:

DM-Hepatology
McH- Hepato-Pancreato-biliary surgery

The course duration for these two courses would be 3 years and would include comprehensive training in the field of diagnostic and therapeutic hepatology, endoscopy, and hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery.
