The Liver Transplant Surgery Unit is an independent unit under the Department of HPB Surgery and it fosters a multidisciplinary approach to the clinical, scientific, and social aspects of liver transplantation to improve the lives of patients with end-stage liver disease (ESLD).

The liver transplant unit runs both deceased-donor (cadaveric) and living-donor liver transplant (LDLT) programs.

There are two dedicated liver transplant operation theaters with world class facilities. There is a dedicated 10 bedded liver transplant ICU managed by a team of intensivists and transplant hepatologists.
