Tele Echo Clinic

Tele Echo Clinic

The project incorporates Tele-ECHO clinics which occur once in a week or fortnightly of 60-120 minutes. This will include a presentation of 15-20 minutes on liver health related topic and case-presentation by the physicians via telephone or video conference.

Guidelines to be followed during the Clinic:

Using the example of a patient who was just diagnosed with liver disease say hepatitis C; first the patient’s primary care physician presents that patient’s information during Tele-ECHO Clinic. Presentation by physicians is done using video-conferencing. The physician is given a treatment plan for the patient. The participating physician follows the hepatitis C treatment protocol and presents the patient’s treatment status at important mile stones or when a health-related issue may impede treatment. The specialist then may change the treatment plan after discussion in the Tele-ECHO clinics to maximize the patient’s chance of cure.
