ILBS- Pre-Clinical In-Vivo Imaging Facility
This facility has been established under DBT Funded Global Star project. This facility is currently equipped with IVIS Lumina XRMS III Series from PerkinElmer. Journey of translational research starts from in vitro findings to preclinical animal models and finally to patients. In vivo imaging facility caters researchers involved in Cancer research, Infectious Disease Research, Immunology and Inflammation, Stem Cell Research, Developmental Biology and Drug development.
By combining bioluminescence, fluorescence, radio isotopic, and X-ray imaging capabilities in a single platform this system provides a powerful tool used in preclinical imaging research. To visualize and track tumor growth, metastasis, and response to therapy using bioluminescent or fluorescent reporter genes expressed in tumor cells. Indeed, its very useful to study the progression of infectious diseases by labeling pathogens with bioluminescent or fluorescent markers and tracking their dissemination within living organisms.
Additionally, immune cell trafficking, inflammation dynamics, and immune responses in vivo using fluorescent markers or bioluminescent reporter genes this system can be used. To study brain function and neurodegenerative diseases by visualizing neuronal activity, tracking neural stem cells, or monitoring the progression of neurological disorders using bioluminescent or fluorescent reporters,
- Gene Expression Studies: To study gene expression patterns, promoter activity, and transcriptional regulation in living organisms.
- Stem Cell Research: To track the fate and behavior of stem cells after transplantation, assessing their engraftment, migration, and differentiation in vivo using fluorescent markers.
- Developmental Biology: Visualizing embryonic development, organogenesis, and tissue regeneration processes in live animals using fluorescent or bioluminescent imaging techniques.
- Drug development - For evaluating the efficacy and pharmacokinetics of new drugs. Researchers can monitor the biodistribution and accumulation of drugs in vivo using fluorescent or radioactive tracers.
Its versatility and ability to provide non-invasive, longitudinal imaging make it an indispensable tool for understanding disease mechanisms, evaluating therapeutic interventions, and advancing biomedical research.
In-Vivo Imaging service is available for research use on chargeable basis as follows-
- ILBS investigators- INR 100/- per Hour
- Investigator from External govt. Institutes- INR 4000/- per Hour + 18% GST
- Investigators from External Private Institutes- INR 6000/- per Hour + 18% GST
