ILBS Swachhata Drive 2025

As an initiative by Delhi Government, a “ Delhi Ko Kude Se Aazadi – Swachhata Drive” was being organised and the same was observed in ILBS for the complete month of August 2025.

During the entire month, many best practices for upkeep of the Institute along with assurance for following them were conducted. The aim of the month long drive was to increase awareness and voluntary involvement for all the sustainable practices of managing waste and keeping the environment clean.

As per guidelines from the GNCTD directives, the activities were customized to relevant practices for the hospital especially with a view to Infection control. The task included various activities like Spill Management training, departments assuring 5S practices, weeding out of old junk material, equipment and records, Biomedical Waste Management, Hand Hygiene awareness to the community. Further, deep cleaning of critical areas, cleaning of Medical Stores and Pharmacy was also done.

To inculcate a culture of healthy competition and sense of responsibility among departments, competitions such as waste to wonder, cleanest department and Quiz competition were organised. The departmental staff and everyone enthusiastically participated in the competition. Following of 3Rs was also emphasised.

Moreover, the community, patients and their attendants visiting the hospital were also made aware towards good hygiene practices and their mental health.

In addition, the landscaping and garden sanitation was done on daily basis and the entire institute was made beautiful.

The vector control measures were also taken to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes.

A concluding event of the complete month activities for review and appreciating the efforts of various departments for their contribution during the Swachhata Drive was organized. During the event, the Awards were given for various competitions such as cleanest department competition, Waste to wonder competition and Quiz competition.

Felicitations were also done for the staff members / core team who played pivotal role during the entire month for coordination and smoothly conducting the entire event.

The Top Management also appreciated the efforts of everyone and encouraged them towards following Swachhata campaign for the following month.
