Dr. Ekta Gupta Professor and Head Department of Clinical Virology did her MD Microbiology from KGMC Lucknow, Senior Residency from AIIMS, New Delhi and Senior Research Associateship in Clinical Virology from AIIMS. She is FRC Path from Royal College of London. She was granted Gold Medal for her MD. She did post MD research work on Dengue virus for which she was awarded with “The Best Scientist Award” by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)”. Have more than 160 scientific publications in indexed National & International Journals and author of 13 chapters in books. She is the Nodal officer for WHO CC ,COVID-19 testing and Delhi State Viral Hepatitis Control program at our institute. She has to her credit several extramural research grants both at National and International level. She is a part of Technical resource group in the National Viral Hepatitis Control Program in India and also State Viral Hepatitis Control Program, Delhi. She is the overseeing NMC approved Basic Course of Medical Education (BCME) Programme for teaching faculty in our institute. She is the Coordinator for best practices adopted for the effective Implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) in Higher education institutions. She is National coordinator for Microbiology trainings conducted by NBEMS for Microbiology in the country. She has been instrumental in initiation of a unique PDCC courses in the Department like Hepato-virology and Transplant Virology for MD Microbiology students ,and introduction of DM Virology under NMC for the first time in any Government Institute in the country. |
