Research Int

Our research group focusses on “Pre-clinical research and drug discovery for Liver Fibrosis and Portal Hypertension". We work in the area of Hepatic cell biology, both parenchymal (Hepatocyte, cholangiocytes) and non-parenchymal (Hepatic stellate and endothelial cells) and study its phenotype in regulating the intrahepatic microenvoirnment in diseased liver. We have developed primary hepatic cell repository to understand its role in diseases pathogenesis and also to explore biomaterials based hybrid scaffold functioning in the field of tissue engineering. We have advanced in characterizing the hepatic and ductual organoids under Microfluidic dynamic culture platform for pre-clinical research. Our group has expertise in development of pre-clinical animal models for translational studies in the field of liver cirrhosis, portal hypertension, liver regeneration and Acute-on-chronic liver failure. Liver Physiology & Vascular Biology Lab has state-of-art facility for pre-clinical research in Hepatic Hemodynamic. Our research finding deciphers new therapeutic targets for liver cirrhosis and its associated complications. Our various research findings have proposed new therapies that improve hepatic microcirculation, fibrosis and liver regeneration.
