Dr. Ekta Gupta did her MD Microbiology from KGMC Lucknow, Senior Residency from AIIMS, New Delhi and Senior Research Associate ship in Clinical Virology from AIIMS. She was granted Gold Medal for her MD. Did post MD research work in Dengue viruses for which “The best Scientist award for outstanding contribution in clinical research by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)”was given. Major research interests are in Hepatitis Viruses, Transplant viruses and Dengue virus. Have more than 70 scientific publications in indexed National & International Journals and author of 11 chapters in books. She is the Nodal officer for Hepatitis Day which is celebrated annually on 4th December in the Institute, she is actively involved in organizing various social level screening and vaccination camps for HBV and HCV in general public. She is the course faculty for the WHO CC and  ECHO program  at the Institute. She is the member secretary of the Institute’s Ethics and Review board (IEC/IRB). She is an active member in many other Institutional committees and various other committees outside the Institute. She has to her credit several extramural research grants both at National and International level. She has been instrumental in initiation of a unique PDCC course in Hepato-virology at ILBS for MD Microbiology students. She is also a part of Technical resource person for developing the National Viral Hepatitis Control Program in India.
