Dr. Esha Baidya Kayal
Assistant Professor
Dr. Esha Baidya Kayal is an Assistant Professor in AI in Healthcare at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi. Her research bridges machine learning, computer vision, and health informatics to solve complex clinical challenges in oncology, hepatology, and critical care. Specializing in quantitative biomedical image processing—particularly quantitative multi-parametric MRI and CT radiomics—she focuses on automated tissue segmentation, disease grading, early therapeutic response evaluation, and prognostic digital biomarkers. Previously, she served as a Scientist-D and Senior Project Scientist at IIT Delhi, leading multi-center projects funded by ICMR and DRDO. She holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Image Processing from IIT Delhi and was awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medal during her M.Tech at JIIT Noida.
