The admission to DM/M.Ch. courses is made through National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Super Specialty Examination (NEET SS) organized by the National Board of Examinations.

For Ph.D., Post-Doctoral Certificate Courses (PDCC), Post Graduate Certificate Courses (PGCC), fellowship and Certificate courses at ILBS, the admission is done through an open and transparent examination system on an All India basis. The notification for admission is issued in both print media and at ILBS website in the months of March and September every year. The Entrance Examination for these courses is scheduled on the last Sunday of May and the second Sunday of December for the Academic Session ‘July’ and ‘January’ respectively. The applications are invited through an online system and after scrutiny for eligibility in various courses, the candidates are called for the entrance examination. The entrance examination consists of two parts viz., Theory and Departmental assessment. The Result of the Theory Examination is declared on the same day evening of theory examination and is displayed on the Institute website. Successful candidates are called further for the Departmental assessment examination on very next day (Day 2). Based on a combined performance of the students in both Theory and Department Assessment examinations, the final result is declared in the evening (of Day 2). In the interest of fairness and transparency, all results are declared and displayed on the same day on the Institute website. The examination committee consisting of Senior ILBS Faculty members ensures validation and reliability of the entrance examinations through necessary checks at different stages of the examination process.
