Maj General (Dr) Ravindra Chaturvedi is an  Anaesthesiologist and Critical Care specialist with 36 years of professional and administrative experience in the Army Medical Corps.

He graduated from the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune and did his Post Graduation in Anaesthesia from Bangalore University and fellowship in Paediatric anaesthesia and Critical Care from All India Institute  of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

During his career in Armed Forces he has had extensive experience in Intensive care, Paediatric cardiac Anaesthesia, Renal Transplant and Liver Transplant Anaesthesia.

During the course of his academic career he has held several prestigious posts like the Dean at Command Hospital Bangalore, Professor and Head at AFMC and Command Hospital Bangalore. He has 25 years MCI recognised teaching experhience, 15 of which have been as a Professor in University of Delhi, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and in Karnataka University of Health Sciences. In later part of his career he has worked as Deputy Commandant at Command Hospital Bangalore an 800 bed Superspeciality teaching hospital and subsequently rose to be the Major General Medical, Head Quarter Dakshin Bharat Area, where he  had both professional as well as administrative and logistic control of the medical institutions of the Army in southern India. His area of responsibility included eight hospitals, eight dental units, ninety polyclinics and four Station Health Organisations. He is an Examiner for MD at these and several other universities. He has also been a member of the Board of Studies at KLE University, Belgaum. He has been appointed as examiner as well as trainer for teachers by the National Board of Examinations. He has been on the editorial board of four  indexed journals and has been the Secretary of the Delhi Chapter of Indian Society of Anaesthesiologist.His contribution has been recognised with a   Commendation by the Chief of Air Staff in 2002 and by the Army Commander in 2006. He has recently joined the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences as Professor of Anaesthesia.
