Experience

Dr. Jaya is a young faculty with excellent academic record presently working as an Associate Professor, in the department of Clinical Nutrition at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, New Delhi. She is a Ph.D. from the Department of Gastroenterology and Human Nutrition, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, after pursuing a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Nutrition with a University Gold Medal, from Rajasthan, India.

Her areas of interest are Clinical Nutrition in Liver and Gastrointestinal Disorders, Critical Illness, Energy Metabolism, sarcopenia, frailty, enteral nutrition and metabolism. She has in all 20 years of clinical research experience in the department of Gastroenterology and Human Nutrition at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi.  She is the In-Charge of the LiHab centre at ILBS. She is the Thesis Guide for 4 PhD Students apart from being the guide and co-guide for 20 PDCC/PGCC/DM/MCh students at ILBS till date; she is also the Principal Investigator of 6 extramural government research grants, and Co-PI of 3 extramural grants. She has in all 31 publications and 10 book chapters to her credit. She is also the founder member and the Assistant Secretary of the Indian Society of Clinical Nutrition (INSCN), and the life member of Indian Society of Gastroenterology (ISG), Indian Association for Study of the Liver (INASL) and Indian Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ISPEN), and also the member of National Task Force of National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) on Obesity and Lifestyle Disorders.
